1965 Ampeg Reverberocket Model R-12R amplifier Serial Number 003037. It is in very nice condition. There are a few dings here and there, but over all and considering it's age, I would rate it 7.5 - 8.0 out of 10. This is the real deal 'Made ln the USA' from back in the day, NOT a modern re-issue.
You really need to hear this amp to appreciate it... The best way I can describe the sound is sweeeeet! Clean at low to moderate volume settings with a rich break-up when pushed. The beautiful reverb (called 'Echo' by Ampeg of yesteryear), the rich tremolo combined with the Jensen Blue Bell speaker make this an amp to die for!
For the most part, it is original: pots, caps and components share similar EIA ID's except for the speaker. At some point the original Jensen was replaced by an era correct but non-original 1969 P12P Jensen C6279 Blue Bell speaker. It is considered by many to be a highly desirable speaker and a significant improvement over the factory installed model...
This Jensen is the ultimate vintage speaker. It was found in many of the best high quality amps from the 50's and 60's... Big, warm, full tone - rich in harmonics and with smooth highs. Sounds stunning!!!
I will point out that the first 'hump' in the letter 'M' in the Ampeg logo is missing. Also the original 'gliders' on bottom have been replaced.
Operation:
Everything works on this amp: All the input sockets; all of the potentiometers function smoothly with no 'scratchiness'; the 'Echo' (Reverb) is lush and the Tremolo sounds great. Both are switched On/Off with the original included footswitch. This is a great sounding vintage Ampeg Reverberocket amplifier...

Judging by the EIA codes (last quarter 1964) and the serial number (003037), this amp was built in early 1965.
