1968 Traynor YSR-1 Custom Reverb Guitar Amplifier, Serial Number 70403. All tube, point-to-point wiring... All original...No mods... This amp is in really nice shape for it's age. Maybe 7-8 out of 10. And it sounds great! Gibbs/Hammond analog spring reverb... authentic vintage tremolo... Sweet!!! A excellent example of the art of Peter Traynor.
As you can see by the chassis images, all wiring and components look original... It doesn't look as if anyone ever worked on this amp since it left the factory...
The tube line-up appears to be original as well... The twin 6CA7 power tubes are RCA from the UK while 5 of the 6 pre tubes have the Rogers moniker stenciled on them. The 6th tube has no visible name.
Dating is accurate... Potentiometer dates are 6837 x 5 pots and 6825 x 2 pots. The Gibbs/Hammond Reverb Tank date code is 6825. The amp likely went out the door in late Fall or early Winter 1968... Production dates were 1968 to 1973, so this was a fairly early amp.
