The Strnad SHPVC-10 10 hole harmonica microphone (or pickup) with volume control clamps onto most 10 hole diatonic harmonicas similar to the Hohner Marine Band, Blues Harp or Special 20. It's light, easy to hold, slides on and off quickly. It also features a built-in port for palm or finger manipulation to produce tremolo, muted or wah-wah effects.
The SHPVC-10 was manufactured by Frank Strnad's American Designs Incorporated of Flint MI. The company ceased production and closed operations shortly after Frank passed away on New Year's Day 2012. Besides being a fine harmonica player he also invented and designed the Strnad harmonica pickup/microphone.
